Something to balance it – Like two animals from the same species (and usually opposing gender) having a relationship

So in theory, soulmates and twin flames absolutely exist because if we exist in nature and we accept we have a soul, then our souls also need to be balanced and supported.

So how do you know a soulmate from a twin flame?

Even though we’re talking about the spiritual/energy side of ourselves, let me use these two physical world examples to make my point.

Your soulmate would be like someone from the same side of town or neighborhood as you. You may not have gone to the same schools or had the same set of friends but you still share the same local values so you both look at life in the same way. Because of this commonality, if you met each other in the Army or on a sports team, you’d go that extra mile to help each other out because you’re from the same hometown. This is the relationship that supports you in your purpose.

With your twin-flame it’s a slightly more intense dynamic. You’re both from the same home town for sure, but you both grew up on the same street, went to the same school and church, knew the same people, and were exposed to the same inside gossip on each other. Because so much of your life’s experiences have been shared, your twin flame is less likely than your soulmate to give you a pass on negative behavior, as they know you inside out, (they grew up in the same conditions as you) and you’ll need to or will likely want to correct yourself to keep that person around as you share things with them that no one else will understand. This is the relationship that exposes your flaws and pushes you to correct and balance out yourself.

As you can imagine, soulmates, i.e. people from your neighborhood, are numerous and you’ll bump into them all the time during your life. But twin flames, i.e. people from your street, who went to the same school and church, and family events – well there’s going to be less of them, so they will be rarer to find, but when you find them, you’ll know and the feeling maybe scaringly familiar for at least one of you, but the bond you feel will be mutual and a very tough one that neither of you will ever want to break!
