You're supposed to share your living environment, your support for each other, your philosophies, ideas, creativity, love, passion, desires, inspiration, and the list goes on. The bottom line is, you share and you work for each other - no different than any other committed partnership in your personal or work life.

Now, for all of my career warriors, just like me, you understand how we can sometimes share our entire lives with our careers, wearing our company credentials on our chest as though we have just received the “Medal of Honor”. Well, let me ask you this. Why not, ‘Honor thy Wife’ or ‘Honor thy Husband,’ - or better yet, ‘Honor thy Sacred Union,’ in the same way you’ve relentlessly honored the relationship with your job or career - no matter how much it’s taken from you over the years?

So for anyone in a marriage or committed relationship, please stop saying, “IMMA DO ME!” The energy in your words effectively starves the relationship of your support thus creating shared zero progression for you and your partner.

If you do seek self-change within your relationship, I implore you start saying, “IMMA DO US!” Saying, ‘US,’ will break the cyclical chains of any ego dysfunction or emotional insecurity that has either been learned or inherited. Saying, ‘US,’ also allows us to trust and love our mates in unity which will bring out the best in those we partner with when we decide to bring out the best in ourselves.

At one point while you and your spouse were courting, I’m pretty sure you have felt or said something along the lines of, “I’m a part of you and you’re a part of me.” Take a long hard look at your mate tonight and think about that statement and if you don’t sense an inner glow or feel that you and your spouse have the potential literally take over the world like Bonnie and Clyde, then I suggest you evaluate your choices on who you pick to lay with every night as your personal growth and development literally depend on it.

I’m just saying…
